The KCK Rigo Rice Cup to be held in Port Moresby will kick off tomorrow at the Sir Hubert Murray Stadium.
The competition is expected to bring in more than 60 teams from Port Moresby and the Central Province.
The tournament has put up prize money totaling to K300,000 in its first edition this year.
Rigo Rice Cup is proudly sponsored by naming rights/platinum sponsors Rigo Rice Limited and Kendekali Lawyers.
Locally owned Civil Works and Engineering Company from Southern Highlands Province, Construct Oceanic Limited became the first local company to jump on board in sponsoring the inaugural edition of KCK Rigo Rice Cup in Port Moresby today.
Company representative Wale Buddah Molumi was present to officiate the cheque presentation at the Rigo Rice Cup Office with tournament CEO Mcsteve Polly.
This sponsorship was part of the local company’s community incentives, as Construct Oceanic Limited has been supporting rugby league in Papua New Guinea for over a decade in Port Moresby, and Southern Highlands as well.
COL MD Sape Molumi has extended his word of support through the company representative, saying his company is pleased to support significant social activities in the country, that plays vital roles in keeping young people away from illicit activities that are fatal to their growth and well-being.
Rigo Rice Cup CEO Mcsteve Polly delightfully thanked Mr. Sape Molumi and the Construct Oceanic team for taking this significant approach towards the tournament saying, “we look forward to the continued partnership into the future.”
A dummy cheque copy was presented to Mcsteve Polly by Mr Wale Buddah Molumi, who also confirmed the participation of Construct Oceanic sponsored POM Menjails in the inaugural edition of KCK Rigo Rice Cup this Christmas.
